We have a tendency to think that ‘angels’ coming into our lives means someone we don’t know, or even know of. But most of the time angels are the friends who save the day or save the moment:
- The friend who calls to say “I’m stopping at the grocery in 5 minutes, what do you need.”
- The friend who calls to say “my son could really use a playmate today, can your son come over to our house to play for a few hours.”
- The friend who stops for a visit and brings the mail from the mailbox – in the pouring rain.
- The friend who mows the lawn while the family visits dad in the hospital.
- The friend who says “I see your screen door isn’t closing properly. I had the same problem with mine a few months ago and figured out the solution, so I’ll fix yours and save you the hassle of figuring out what I already figured out.”
The list could go on and on – but you get the picture. Angels are every day people like you and me. They do everyday routine things like we all do each day. So on Be an Angel Day, it’s so easy for each of us to be an angel for someone.
Go for it – be an angel! And click on Comments to share what you did – or better yet, what some angel did for you!
Tomorrow’s post is all about cookies!! YUM.
Today’s Quote:
Angels may not dress the part,
With robes and wings that soar,
Often angels come as friends
Knocking at your door.
