Help Change the Journey

In the U.S. we typically think of daffodils in the spring time. The American Cancer Society always has a Daffodil Day. So why does WhatFriendsDo.com suggest daffodils in August? Well, it’s time to pay attention to those bulb catalogs. Order some daff bulbs, so when fall planting time is here you’ll be ready.

Planting bulbs in honor of a friend is a really awesome thing to do. Each spring when the green starts to peek through, there is an excitement – it really is magical even though we know it will happen every spring. Imagine the smile on your friend’s face when beautiful bulbs bloom that were planted in honor of a loved one who passed away this year. Or the joy of blooming flowers that symbolize complete recovery from cancer.

So today – we must plan ahead! And don’t worry – there will be another post on this WhatFriendsDo.com blog in October to remind you to plant the bulbs, with ideas for turning the planting into an event.

If you get the WhatFriendsDo.com newsletters, you’ve seen how we end our messages: “We cannot change the outcome of your situation, but we hope we can help change the journey.” Celebrating each day in a bit of an unusual way is part of how the journey can have little bright spots, regardless of how difficult the situation is. Daffodils – any day of the year – are bound to cause smiles!
